Due to framing techniques in the past, antique prints and pictures can become stained or marked. Stains can be picked up from mounts and backing boards that were often made from packing cases and are full of acid. At first glance the pictures look beyond repair but in reality they can be restored to their former glory. In fact the results are so good that we treat the restoration and framing of the artwork as two separate jobs, waiting until the picture has been restored before we select mount and frame. The completed results always exceed people’s expectations.
